His past, being both filmmaker and stage actor, he plans on keeping that a secret for both himself and his grand-daughter. Surprisingly enough, Georges Mêliés (Marie-Georges-Jean Mêliés) was a real person, a famous French filmmaker born on December 8th, 1861 in Paris, France and died on January 21st, 1938. He was not only a filmmaker and illusionist, but a toy maker, costume designer, set designer and film actor. His work lead many technical and narrative developments of cinema in the earliest days. |
The Automation
Even though, the automation isn't a real life person it is very important in The Invention of Hugo Cabret. The Automation was found by Hugo's deceased father, at the museum he worked at. All Hugo wants is to find what this interesting Automation writes, and his answer may not only surprise himself, but Isabelle as well. |
